U11 Hockey Team enjoy a training day at KES

The U11 Hockey team went to King Edward VI School, Southampton, to a mixed hockey day run by Matt Taylor (National League Hockey Head Coach and coaching advisor) who employed GB Men’s Hockey player, Ollie Willars, Scotland Goalkeeper Jamie Cachia and Olympic Gold Medalist Hollie Webb.

The girls were put through their paces with coaching in the morning and then played a friendly round-robin tournament after lunch. The Chafyn girls acquitted themselves really well, listening to advice and taking on board the passion and experience of the coaches.

In the afternoon, they played 4 games and won 3 of them convincingly and played hockey that reflected the ideals being taught in the morning. L. Carr came for special praise as someone who had listened and taken on board a great deal and her play became much more effective because of it.
