A gold medal at the National Athletic Championships

Oli C-S, a Year 6 pupil ran a superb race in the 1500m to become the Under 12 National Champion. Having knocked 12 seconds off the course record at the qualifying  Wessex event two weeks ago, he was hotly tipped to win at the finals. Despite a stumble at the start, he led all the way and finished over 20m ahead of the next boy in 4:51, tantalisingly close to the national record of 4:50.

This was followed up by a great performance from the Year 6 boys relay team (Oli C-S, William M, Angus B and Oliver N) who ran a time of 57:40s to beat Port Regis to finish 4th place.  It is a great achievement to qualify for Nationals and Amelia, Thomas and Will should also be congratulated for their fantastic achievements.  Amelia L. was 5th in High Jump with a jump of 1.30m and 4th in her 100m heat with time of 14:80.  William M. was 4th in his 200m heat with time of 29:48.  Thomas N. was 6th in his 75m hurdles heat with time of 12:80.

We are so proud of them all.
